Linear vs Residual Income.
This is like night and day and actually it can be with the correct opportunity.
Linear income – what is this? Here is the breakdown…you work 40 hours a week and you get paid for 40 hours of work. Simple! Most people do this…and they ‘conform’ to this because they have been taught that this is the way to live. Some of this is practical as you read on and some of this you already know. For instance, your parents like mine, told us to go to college and get an education and then get a job. I did this and also got a master’s degree. No big deal – I know how to study and do well on paper. This by the way creates linear income, except when the economy in the world sets a different stage. The more educated you are usually means that you are more expensive to a company…and you lose your job; you do not lose it because you don’t have the skills, you simply lose the job because your linear income is not profitable enough for the company which employed you.
Residual income – what is this? This is what everyone needs. Granted, not everyone will get to this level because they don’t want to apply a proven system which works! Some will think that they will achieve residual income because they received some email stating so. Of course this is nonsense! Residual income can be created in a very short period of time, and as little as a few months but this is not common. Within a year to a few years is more common. Residual income is simply getting money month after month without any work required. Yes, this is not the textbook definition but it is the reality. Think of an author who writes one book and it sells millions of copies for 20 years (just an example), the author gets paid month after month for something he/she created in the past. Another example may be a landlord who purchased an apartment complex and rents out the units – granted this is only residual income after the apartment complex is paid off.
